Hatu Peak
Hatu peak is the second highest peak in Shimla district of Himachal Pradesh, India. It is located at an elevation of 3400 m (11,152 ft) above sea level.Surrounded by majestic mountains and covered in a dense green blanket of sky touching cedar and fir, Hatu Peak may just be paradise on earth. Hatu Peak lies on the Shimla-Rampur Highway nearly 71 km from Shimla. The roads are in good condition until Narkanda which is nearly 8 km from the peak. The Hatu Mata Temple rests atop the hill on Hatu Peak and holds great religious significance to the locals. The temple is dedicated to Mandodari, the wife of King Ravana. The peak and the surrounding area is dominated by a large temperate forest mostly consist of Conifer, Oak, Maple, Populus, Aesculus, Corylus, Holly species.
Hatu Peak Trek
Climbing to an altitude of 11,155 feet will be a 7-8 hour journey, and you will have covered a total distance of 14 kms. Hatu Peak Trek is a day hike which packs in everything that you get in a full-fledged Himalayan trek – dark pine forests, superb mountain views, enchanting meadows and the thrill of walking on snow, provided you time it right. On a clear day, you can spot close to 55 mountains from the highest point of this trek — including Nanda Devi, the tallest mountain entirely in India. . It is the perfect trek with great views of biggest mountains of Manali. Moreover, you get to stand right at the base of the Pir Panjal Range. On your way to the peak, you will find few flat-roofed shepherd huts which are known as the ‘Gujjar Kotha’. Hatu Mata Temple is located 3.5 from Gujjar Kotha at the top of a long ridge with a more or less north-south orientation. You can also visit many points like Jor Bagh, Karena Peak, Baghi Village and Tanni Juber Lake.
Camping at Hatu
If you feel like 7 hours is not enough time to fully enjoy the hypnotic beauty of this magnanimous peak, you can choose to spend a night camping at Jor Bagh. Camping is another way of directly experiencing nature. An eco-friendly camp. Narkanda has an organized accommodation that is comfortable and spacious. Divided into Bamboo cum Mud Huts, it has a well equipped dining/conference area and plenty of activity areas. Bamboo Huts of two dimensions 16 X 12 & 18 X 12 are built on Eco friendly structure and have an Attached washroom with running water facility.

- any kind of travel, lodging or medical cost incurred in case a trekker drop out of the trek due to sickness or injury
How to Reach
By Car: – Through by cab you can come from Delhi, Chandigarh by NH5, There is a direct route to Narkanda. Delhi to Narkanda will take 10 hours and from Chandigarh it will take 6 hours. Cab will passes through Solan, Shilma,Kufri.
By Train: – The nearest railway station is Shimla Railway Station, from shimla it will take 2 hours to reach on NH5.
By Flight: – The nearest Airport is Jubbarhatti which is half an hour before from mail shimla city. From Airport it will take 2.30 minutes to reach on NH5.
