Prashar Lake
The lake is located at a height of 2730 m above sea level. Prashar Lake, also known as Parashar Lake, is a small lake located about 50 kilometers from Mandi in Himachal Pradesh. The place is famous for the three storied temple which is located on the bank of the lake. There is small island in the lake which changes its position. Locals believe that the lake is in the shape of Bheem’s elbow. Hence the region came to be known as Kamru Valley. And the lake is also known as Kamrunag Lake. Parashar Lake looks like a blue emerald in the midst of green pastures and gigantic mountains. The surroundings of the lake are a rare site which can enchant the mind and soul of every tourist. It had become a good trekking spot lately because of its proximity to plains as well as peaceful and breathtaking views.
Prashar Lake Trek
Prashar Lake Trek is one of the famous trek routes in this region. Prashar Lake is 7 Km from Kantlu Village near to the Mandi City and it will take 5 hours to reach. Prashar Lake Trek is a day hike which packs in everything that you get in a full-fledged Himalayan trek – dark pine forests, superb mountain views, enchanting meadows and the thrill of walking on snow, provided you time it right. he picture-perfect blue water lake is surrounded by the majestic Dhauladhar Ranges in Kullu Valley and it is always kept as a secret in the Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh. It is the perfect trek with great views of biggest mountains of Manali. On your way to the peak, you will find few flat-roofed shepherd huts. It is an easy trek during springs and summers. However, the difficulty level is moderate during winters when it is snowing or when it is slippery during monsoons. Best Time to Visit Prashar Lake The trek route is closed in winter because the path will be filled with snow. You can visit from September to December or in Summer.

- any kind of travel, lodging or medical cost incurred in case a trekker drop out of the trek due to sickness or injury
How to Reach
By Car: – When you travel to Prashar Lake from Delhi, the route from Delhi to Mandi is as follows
Delhi – Sonipat – Panipat – Kurukshetra – Chandigarh – Sundernagar – Mandi.
By Train: – No direct trains run to Mandi from Delhi or Shimla. However, you can take Shatabdi till Chandigarh and hire a cab/ take a bus till Mandi. You can also travel to Joginder Nagar train station as well.
By Flight: – The nearest Airport from Prashar Lake is Bhuntar, approximately 60 KMs away.
